Several years ago SPARK had the opportunity to work with ADI Engineering (now Silicom Ltd.) on a project for Intel. The success of that project has led to an ongoing partnership between between SPARK and Silicom. However, that partnership may have never been possible if not for our strong relationship with Jason Jenkins and Spectrum Metal Services in Midlothian, VA.
SPARK’s relationship with Spectrum goes back more than 10 years. Over that time, we have come to rely on Jason and his team for all things sheet metal. At SPARK, we have extensive experience in sheet metal design, so our expectations for fabricators can be demanding. With Spectrum’s well-equipped shop, which includes a laser cutter, waterjet, press brakes, and a powder-coating booth, Jason and his team consistently deliver high-quality work. Their wide range of capabilities, matched with great knowledge and customer service, make them a perfect match for the variety of projects we work on at SPARK.
Understanding the importance of a quality partner like Spectrum, SPARK has worked closely with Jason to match our drawing standards to their practices, ensuring that anything we send to Spectrum can be produced accurately and on time by Jason’s team. If SPARK’s designers ever have questions about a design, Jason is always willing to make suggestions and highlight opportunities for improvement and cost reduction.
When it came to our first project with Silicom, SPARK needed to be confident that our parts would be built right and delivered quick. Intel needed a product designed and produced from scratch in two weeks, and this was only possible thanks to SPARK’s close relationship with Spectrum. Jason was able to understand SPARK’s design intent and turn around production-quality enclosures to ADI in a matter of days. At SPARK, we realize the value a partner like Spectrum delivers for our clients, which is why Jason will continue to be our first call when a project requires anything made from sheet metal.
